An/Abwesenheit

Holding a plant, I stand inside a Styrofoam box.

I sift through the pieces of Styrofoam, searching for soil for the plant.

I plant the plant in this Styrofoam “soil.”

I step out of the box and pick up the watering can beside the wall.

I walk into the garden to water the plants, and to water myself.

Then I return indoors and put on clothes bearing the same pattern as the wall.

My body merges with the background. In different volumes and with shifting emotions, I repeat again and again:
